On Monday, 17th June Lower 48 Energy, in collaboration with our planning partners PWA, hosted a 3-hour open house Public Community Meeting at St Nicholas’ Church in Wrea Green, Preston, from 4 pm to 7 pm. The meeting focused on our upcoming proposal to build and operate a 30 MW/ 60 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Lytham.

We are committed to engaging with local communities, providing an opportunity for the public to ask questions, raise concerns, and learn more about our proposal through open dialogue and detailed exhibition boards. We were thrilled to have a good turn out from potential neighbours to the project location including some local councillors.

Key concerns raised included transport and road access, as well as the noise and how it could affect horses in the area and passing the site.  Other visitors were concerned about the potential damage to the roadways and bridle paths in the area during construction. All the points raised on the day and on formal feedback forms will be considered and reflected in the design and layout of the site put forward for planning.
